Delete your account

Who this page is for

This page explains how to delete your Combobulato account and the data associated with it. Combobulato is run by Dan Hughes, operating from the United Kingdom.

How to request deletion

Combobulato doesn't yet have an in-app "delete account" button. To delete your account, email dan@combobulato.com with the subject line "Delete my account", from the email address you use to sign in.

We'll confirm receipt within two working days and complete the deletion within 30 days of your request.

What gets deleted

When you delete your account, we remove:

  • Your account record (email, display name, handle, hashed password).
  • All notes you've created and all comments you've posted.
  • Your personal circle and any circles you created solely for yourself.
  • Your wishlists, wishlist items, and pledges you've made.
  • Your to-do lists and to-do items.
  • Mover records (notes you marked as moving you).
  • Mobile push tokens registered to your account.

Deletion happens within 30 days of your request. A short grace period lets you change your mind.

What may be retained

A small amount of data may be kept after your account is deleted, for specific legal or operational reasons:

  • Audit and anti-abuse records may be kept longer where we have a legal reason to keep them.
  • Server logs are kept for 90 days and then rotated automatically.
  • Content shared with other users in circles you didn't own (for example, a comment you posted on someone else's note) — where removing your contribution would break the thread for other people, we may retain the content in a form that doesn't identify you. You can ask for this to be removed as well and we'll do our best.

Other options

If you want to step back without full deletion, email us and we can pause your account instead — your content stays but your account becomes inactive. You can reactivate at any time.
